Oregon Brewers Festival kicks off July 26th, 2018

July is Craft Beer Month in Oregon, with the Oregon Brewers Festival landing on the last weekend. This year there are a few differences, though. Don’t worry, I’m here to help!

31st Annual Oregon Brewers Festival

Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 300 SW Naito Parkway, Portland, OR 97204

When: July 26th-29th, 2018. Beer poured from noon-8:30pm Thursday-Saturday, noon-6:30pm Sunday

Cost: Free to enter. $7 for a tasting glass, $1 per token. 4 tokens = full pour.

Changes for the 2018 Oregon Brewers Festival

Cider & Wine Drink Options

Two ciders will be available from Cider Riot! and Reverend Nat’s. A red and white wine will be available from Eola Hills, and a white and rosé from Serra Vineyards. They will be available in a separate tent on the river side of the festival. Cider tastes are one token, a full pour is four tokens. There will be no tastes of wine, just full pours for five tokens.

No Printed Program

To reduce paper waste, this year the beer list will be available via mobile app. You can also download the list of beers here to print them out yourself: 2018 Oregon Brewers Festival Beer List. One-page printed lists will also be available at each trailer.

Shorter Festival

Instead of kicking off on a Wednesday, the festival will run Thursday through Sunday this year. The parade will now be Thursday morning at 11:30am.

Featured Guest Breweries

This year, there will be beers from five guest breweries located in Baja, California Mexico: Agua Mala, Border Psycho, Insurgente, Transpeninsular, and Wendlandt. They won’t be in a specialty tent like in previous years, but rather mixed in with the other beers.

Tips for Staying Alive

Getting there

It’s recommended that you use public transit, bike, or ride-shares/taxis. The Safe Ride Home program will offer vouchers for taxi rides, as well as $5 off Lyft and Uber rides.

Staying Hydrated

Bring an empty water bottle to fill up. Take breaks to hydrate, it’s going to be hot!

Bring Friends!

It’s easier to try more beers if you bring a group. It makes just about everything more fun!
